5 South - Post-Operative Care

In Baxter Regional Medical Center’s 26 bed Orthopedic/Surgical unit, physicians and nurses care for adult medical-surgical patients, specializing in orthopedic and general surgery. The surgical services provided include, but are not limited to joint replacements, fracture care, abdominal surgery, peripheral vascular surgery, urological surgery, and any other indicated procedures. Our patient to nurse ratio is 5:1.

5 South provides excellent care to every patient every time. We are looking for individuals who are positive, motivated, thrive in a team environment, and strive for continuous learning. While ACLS is not required, the majority of our Registered Nurses ("RN") are ACLS certified, and we also have several Orthopedic Certified RNs. We also have multiple preceptors who love to teach and give back to new employees. On 5 South and throughout BRMC, you will find a culture of trust, respect, and transparency. The 5 South team works collaboratively with physical therapy, social work, case management, pharmacy, and many other departments to care for our patients and meet their needs during hospitalization and transitioning to home.
