Baxter Regional Medical Center (BRMC) Endoscopy Services unit offers comprehensive endoscopic services for the diagnosis, treatment and supportive nursing care of patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal system requiring either or both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Patients who are admitted to the Endoscopy Unit are under the care of the gastroenterologist or generalist. Procedures are performed by gastroenterologists and generalists who have been recognized and trained in endoscopy and are privileged to perform these procedures by the hospital’s credentialing committee.
Nursing care is provided by Certified Registered Nurses (CGRN), Registered Nurses (RN) Registered Radiology Technicians (RRT) and Endoscopy Technicians (ET) each within their scope of practice. Services include clinical assessments, nursing therapy and interventions such as infusion therapy, medication administration, patient teaching evaluation and discharge planning.
