Our Community / Schools

Mountain Home's public school program offers a safe and educational environment for children. Starting at the Mountain Home Kindergarten and then entering Nelson-Wilks-Herron Elementary, students receive award-winning education from the excellent teachers and staff. The newly-opened Hackler Intermediate teaches third through fifth-grade students, and Pinkston Middle School teaches students in the sixth and seventh grade. Mountain Home's Junior High educates eighth and ninth graders and has been ranked repeatedly in the top ten percent of Arkansas schools. Mountain Home High School features three "Career Academies" - distinct sets of teachers and educators that operate in a particular style in order to provide better educational opportunities to their students by teaching to their learning style. Mountain Home is also proud to feature numerous preschool programs that can help get children on the road to success.
