The Pharmacy Department is responsible for dispensing medications around the clock for an average inpatient population of 120 patients. The Department consists of pharmacists, as well as technicians and support personnel, who work together to promote safe and appropriate use, proper storage, and distribution of medications as required for patient care in accordance with professional standards and practices. Our pharmacists work closely with the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Infection Prevention, and our Nursing Shared Governance committees to ensure patients receive cutting-edge, evidence based care.

Clinical services provided by the Department include antimicrobial stewardship, TPN management, renal drug monitoring, drug interaction monitoring, patient care rounding, medication teaching, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug order review, and drug information support for care providers with a focus on an integrated, unit-based model for care delivery. Our highly trained pharmacists work one-on-one with providers to ensure every patient receives optimal pharmacotherapy for acute and chronic medical conditions.
The Employee Pharmacy at Baxter Regional operates to service the needs of our staff and their families, providing expert retail pharmaceutical services. This department consists of Pharmacists and Technicians who collaborate with the employee and their health care provider to achieve the most appropriate and cost effective therapy for their health conditions. As a self-insured pharmacy, this facility is able to operate at a lower cost, and pass these savings on to the staff of our hospital, making it an attractive employee benefit.
